Welcome to Open Enrollment

DSU Employee Benefits Open Enrollment: April 23 to May 31, 2018

Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review your benefits to make sure you have the best coverage for 2018-19 fiscal year.

The Benefits Open Enrollment period will be held, April 23, 2018 through May 31, 2018. If you do not wish to make any plan changes this year, no action is required. The only plan that you must re-enroll in each year is flexible spending, which can be done online in your myPEHP account. Open Enrollment FAQ.

Through the legislative process, PEHP renewed at a 4.1% increase. No changes to deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums; minor co-pay changes depending on the provider. Traditional plan premiums are going up $0.91 – $2.54 per paycheck; STAR plan employees get $0.50 – $1.00 more in employer HSA contributions per paycheck. Employees can still switch between traditional and STAR plans during open enrollment. See the PEHP Open Enrollment Guide for additional information.

The University uses EMI Health for its dental insurance.  Through good utilization of our dental plan this year under EMI Health, there are no dental plan changes for 2018-19. All current premiums & coverage for 2017-18 will carry over to next fiscal year. Employees can still switch between the two dental plan options (traditional vs. preferred) during open enrollment. Please go online to emihealth.com to do a provider search (search either premier or advantage – both are considered in-network). Click here to view the EMI Health E-Booklet of coverage. Use the EMI Dental Change Form if there are any updates to your coverage.

Through PEHP, both EyeMed and Opticare of Utah vision plans will have no changes for 2018-19. All current premiums & coverage for 2017-18 will carry over to next fiscal year. Employees can still switch between the four vision plans (full vision vs. eyeware only) during open enrollment.

The University contracted with Cigna for its term life insurance.  All existing life insurance coverage in 2017-18 with Cigna will carry over to 2018-19 at the same rates. Supplemental life insurance rates are based on employee or spouse’s age as of July 1 each year. Additional coverage is available in open enrollment through medical underwriting.

  • Employees with current coverage, use the Group/Supplemental Life Insurance form to update beneficiaries.
